Lincolnshire Local to Global
If you are a novice or experienced importer or exporter based in Lincolnshire or Rutland, this programme provides up to 30+ hours of fully funded strategic and operational support to address your international trade challenges and/or expedite your global ambitions
Overview
Lincolnshire, the fourth largest county in England, is home to some amazing manufacturing, agrifood, tourism and logistics companies, among many others; the county contributes some £15 billion to the UK economy each year.
Local companies have some tremendous, untapped international trade potential. Why? Because there is significant appetite for UK products and produce overseas, and the county offers much to inbound tourists. Sadly, we know that far too few of these companies are exploring opportunities to boost revenue and secure business longevity by trading beyond UK shores. This is something that Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub in conjunction with Global Trade Department are intent on changing.
Lincolnshire Local to Global is a programme of support fully funded by Business Lincolnshire and delivered by Global Trade Department. Support is delivered not by training modules or webinars but rather it is bespoke and dedicated 1:1 support that is highly practical in nature. You are assigned a global trade specialist that works as an extension of your team to remove any barriers to overseas trade for your business and to expedite efforts to recognise revenue growth from international trade.
There are no import or export challenges or objectives off the table. Support is capped at a whopping 30 hours per business; and eligibility criteria is minimal i.e. essentially you must be an SME based in Lincolnshire or Rutland.
Companies already enrolled on the programme have used support to:
- Find new and lucrative markets overseas for their products and services
- Overcome non-tariff barriers to trade (documentation, shipping, regulation, etc.)
- Source and vet distributors/agents and/or suppliers overseas
- Gain authorisations from HMRC to reduce costs and bureaucracy when importing and exporting
- Remove regulatory barriers to exporting by finding and complying with derogations within destination country legislation
- Navigate existing and emerging sustainability regulation to future proof their imports and exports
- Obtain detailed guidance on how to comply with key product safety and other EU regulation
- Implement best practice and ensure trade compliance via process and documentary on-site audits
- Adapt product and services to meet overseas market requirements
- Access specialist finance to safeguard working capital and cashflow when exporting
- And much, much more
With decades of ‘practical’ importing and exporting experience within the team, there is no challenge or objective that Global Trade Department has not been able to overcome on behalf of clients. We are certain that we will be able to help your organisation too! To learn more:
