Business Sustainability

As a key supplier to the UK SME community, we take seriously our commitment to conducting our business in the most ethical manner, across all of the regions in which we operate, and with all of our stakeholders, including clients, employees, and suppliers.

As a key supplier to the UK SME community, we have a responsibility to conduct our business in the most ethical manner, across all of the regions in which we operate, and with all of our stakeholders, including clients, employees, and suppliers.

Our lead on sustainable global trade is based on our steadfast belief in the collective power of 6 million UK SMEs and their ability to help address global poverty and our planet’s increasing vulnerability. Furthermore, we know that as small cogs in large supply chains, SMEs will, at some point, be forced to follow stringent sustainability legislation, or face fiscal penalties, or simply get left behind. In response to this, Global Trade Department has been working hard to develop a programme of work that serves to guide SMEs through their greening global trade journey, futureproofing their compliance, and as such their company.

Charity of 2023

Many Tears Animal Rescue (MTAR)

Founded in 2004 by Sylvia and Bill Van Atta, MTAR is a registered charity (No: 1192227) based in Carmarthenshire, Wales but with dogs in foster homes throughout the UK. They take in and rehome primarily ex-breeding dogs who are no longer required; those on “death row” in the pounds and those whose owners are no longer able to keep them.

They are a unique rescue in that most dogs are ex-breeders, and many have never seen the outside world before. With the help of dedicated staff, fosterers, and other volunteers MTAR provides a special and loving environment to help all its dogs adapt and find permanent, loving new homes. The rescue has grown considerably since it first opened and now homes more than 3,000 dogs a year.

The charity holds particular importance to our founder, Andrea Collins, as she was fortunate to rehome a beautiful ex-breeding golden retriever, Millie, who came to be a Godsend to Andrea after she lost her two previous goldens within 6 months of each other.
